Sunset and Sunrise: Southern Hemisphere

Here are some light effects I saw during a recent visit to NZ and Australia:

South Otago, NZ; near sunset.

South Otago, cloud effects. From this angle, the headland has the profile of a man: who might he be? -- The Old Man of the Sea? --Poseidon? Needless to say, a moment in time to be remembered.

The same beach, a bit later. (I'm afraid the transfer to Blogger has not been kind to this photo!)

Sunrise on my last day in Auckland, 1st May 2009

Western Australia: the deep afterglow of sunset over the Indian Ocean

Sunset over the Swan River, Perth, WA

Ian...SWEET!

What I wouldn't give to be there right now! Great photos and they relate the peaceful serenity well.
